Hi there! I created this website as a guidebook for people who want to buy their first house and need some direction. I currently own two homes; I bought my first when I was 21 years old and since then I have always enjoyed the sense of pride and the feeling of security that home ownership provides.
My first home buying experience was somewhat rocky. The housing market was booming and it was incredibly hard to find decent, affordable homes as prices skyrocketed. The whole process of buying a house seemed rushed and frenetic, and I somehow got lost and felt more like I was being carried by the waves of desperation than moving at my own pace and within the limits of my knowledge.
With all the research I did online back then, I wished there was a website that went through the whole process of buying a house in simple terms instead of bombarding me with terminology I was unfamiliar with and talking about things in ways I would have needed an economics degree to understand.
My goal with this site is to share my own experiences and knowledge in a way that will prepare others for buying their first homes, and also to hopefully help them avoid some of the pitfalls that can happen during the process. I am more than willing to answer any questions you have if I can possibly do so, and I try to keep the content current and updated regularly.
